Mr & Mrs Thorning

The most amazing day you've been waiting essentially your entire life for has just arrived and it all starts with bridal prep.

The girls are with you, your best friends who have been there for you at every moment  in life through think and thin & now they are here for you at the most important day of your life - this beautiful bride Becky had just those girls with her and it was so lovely to see them laugh, joke and bond together, the bubbly popped, breakfast platters around, one in the make up chair, another sorting out all the little bits and the bride getting her done with the hairspray to hold, music is playing and the vibe is nothing but high.

The flowers have arrived, the perfume fills the room & the something old, something borrowed & something blue mustn't be forgotten.

Dresses all hung in a row with names on hangers waiting for that moment to be worn for the first time.

I love the atmosphere of the bridal prep as the excitement builds in each person, happy tears and loving memories are exchanged and cherished - its a room full of happiness, love and emotion and i adore being able to capture each brides prep to Miss & becoming Mrs.

I get so emotional myself <3

The help of mother and the maid of honour its time to get THE dress on and have a big reveal to dad of his lovely daughter & what a heart warming reveal it was with dad smiling so big & bridesmaids all faces that say WOW, then tears of happiness stroll down faces - don't ruin the make up girls !!! <3

Shoes on, flowers at hand - she's ready to say her vows, the cars pull up Out Front to escort the party to the church,

its time .

A few last photos of the most beautiful bride making her way down the stairs and with her nearest and dearest, the last photos before she is reunited with her beloved.

Into the car they go driver at the wheel, the time has finally come she's been waiting for and has been building up for what seems like such a long time, its your time now Becky.

George, the groom waiting at the altar all ready and a bit nervous with his groomsmen to keep him calm, all the guests arriving, dressed so lovely for the happy occasion taking their seats on each side, a tradition for weddings as far as we know.

The vicar takes his place and asks the guests to be upstanding - the bride has arrived and is about to make her grand entrance.

Oh this part chokes me up! I cant help it its my favourite part of any wedding, whist everyone has eyes on the bride all my attention is focused on the groom and his expression because in that moment when he takes his first look at his beloved a rush of emotions takes over and that i believe is so beautiful.

So happy to see each other and maybe even a little bit of nerves as they stand together at the altar taking their vows to become Mr & Mrs - dad welling up handing his daughter to her intended, hymns are sung, readings are heard, over to the vicar to bound them in matrimony.

Those amazing words being said & the excitement, happiness, nerves of the bride and groom getting ready to make that very special bond of introducing themselves as Mr & Mrs ! "You may kiss the bride" - cheering and clapping in the church as the bells are rung and they give each other a loving kiss, holding hands they make their way back up the isle and outside the front doors taking a moment together for it to sink in that they are officially married and are now Mr & Mrs,

The rest of the wedding party make their way to congratulate the newly weds in the glorious sunshine outside in the church grounds - lots of chat and mini catch ups are held here just before its time for those traditional photos together with loved ones and the bride and groom - in and out they all come giggling and laughing and smiling away - so much smiling its a work out on your wedding day didn't you know - you will feel all muscles you never felt before in your face.

The wedding party slowly departs and wave goodbye to the bride and groom - time for a small walk to grab a few couple shots of the happily newly weds at the beautiful church grounds, unposed and fun we have a chatter, i love to give my wonderful newly weds a few moments to walk themselves as i stray behind because on your wedding day I've noticed countless times couples forget to do this very important part, you get so caught up in the itinerary and pleasing your guests, this is often left aside but its essential you both have that time to enjoy it just you two.

The wedding cars swing by and its time to slowly head to the reception venue - 5 mins ahead of the bride and groom asking the driver to take a small detour so they arrive slightly later than i - awaiting their arrival in a wonderful old classic car - George being a complete petrol head the bridal party had a various selection of his favourite old school number one cars he adored which created such a unique part of their wedding day it was fantastic to see.

Drinks flowing, the sun shining the small quaint village venue has everything you need a wonderful outside lawn area to sit and enjoy the view of endless countryside, inside tables for dining & of course the all important dance floor ready for the evenings entertainment.

Enjoyment had with lots of laughs - i become invisible at this stage capturing all those important in the moment candid shots with the bride & groom and their guests, getting that hug with best friends, hands holding with grandkids, playing in the fields together, big belly laughs and champagne drinking, the realness and natural expressions of everyone unknowing I'm capturing those special moments they share together - perfect.

The afternoon starts to draw in and its almost time for the meal to begin, with the summer sun getting ready to say goodbye i always use this opportunity and take away the couple for some relaxed shots together, the fields surrounding the venue are just spectacular with wheat growing in one and endless lush grass in others, beautiful <3  & of course a few with Georges beloved cars in the summer sun. How romantic.

Traditionally the speeches are at the end of the meal but in this modern world everyone ends up in food comas, its now becoming a very popular opinion to have them before food. Understandable right ?  Everyone takes their seats and all eyes are on the groom firstly to welcome and thank his guests and of course to compliment his blushing bride, quick and simple speech (not everyone likes the spotlight on them), next up is the grooms father with his very emotional and comical speech about his son and how he met his lovely wife, the stories and laughs they have had together, i absolutely love to hear these and always end up welling up myself, I'm not crying your crying.

The bride has a wonderful speech from her bridesmaids, a lot of laughter through this one and some embarrassments to - we shan't repeat these haha, ending with tears and love for each other, so beautiful.

Lastly is the best mans speech the one everyone is wating for and this one grabbed the attention of the entire wedding party, it was sentimental, comical & pure joy, a vey well done sir, the nerves before had were worth it - the entire party clapped and some wiping away all those happy tears toasting to the newly weds in congratulations !

Time for food - a non traditional idea again with this wonderful wedding a fish & chip shop truck turned up help yourself to a meal of battered fish or battered sausage (with an addition to halloumi for vegetarians ) who doesn't like fish & chips ? Such a simple ideas, less stress and less fuss and everyone is guaranteed to be happy and full. Lovely jubbly haha.

The summer sun has set and the DJ has setup with the music up high and the lights down low - its party time, evening guests arriving, hugs all around , a quick change of shoes and its almost that time for the bride & groom to take to the floor to have their very first dance as a newly wedded couple.

Announcement over the speakers to gather all guest to the dance floor ready to watch, the song starts to play and the newly weds embrace each other tightly looking at one another almost in their own world like no one else is there,  in this moment its just them, this is the moment the rest of their lives together happily married starts, a spectacular moment to witness, true love in all its glory.

As their song ends a new one starts and they invite everyone to join them in a dance together.

The party starts - and with that que it is my time to drift off, say my congratulations, capture those last memories for my wonderful couple Becky & George & wish them a very happy life together as i go away with all their treasured memories captured through out this beautiful day and what a wonderful, loving and happy filled day it has been.

The magic for me as the photographer continues after this special day as i go away and start the editing process and presenting the final photographs for them to be stored and loved for years to come.
